1:1800 New Orleans Class Heavy Cruisers (1944)

The New Orleans class cruisers were a class of 7 ships of the United States Navy, build in the 1930s. The New Orleans class  carried a total of 3 triple 8-inch guns turrets, a total of 9 guns.

The ships had hull no's. from CA-32 (New Orleans) up to CA-44 (Vincennes)

Astoria, Quincy and Vincennes were sunk during the battle of Savo Islands in Aug 1942. The other 4 ships survived WW2.

 

1944 refit, with added AA (Quadruple 40 mm Bofor) compared to the 1943 setup. Different search-light tower and aft-deck-superstructure, AA Mg setup removed from the Aft-turret roof. Extra AA-deck added to rear-chimney.
